daily style: one shoulder vs. another...

|
By Roberta Correia · January 12, 2011

This post was put on a little hiatus due to a severe case of indecisiveness. See, I just couldn't wrap my head around how I felt about Nicole's velvety Emilio Pucci one armed dress (by the way that made me say One Eyed Willy in my head).

Harlow's mom chose a very Bohemian intricately printed purple velvet dress to celebrate her Lucky Mag cover in LA this week. Now as much as velvet and I hate each other I had a hard time dismissing this look completely. I started thinking that this was the type of thing hippie and mod chicks from the 60s would have worn. If she had clicked in some super straight long extensions with some Jane Birkin-esque bangs, I would've had no doubt about it. But the short wavy hair was a little too common place for such an interesting dress. For now I'm voting "like" but who knows where my head will be at the end of the day, I'll let you know if I suddenly switch gears.

More one shouldered fantasticness after the jump! more, more, more...

daily style: classy broads...

Author and contributing editor for all of fashion, Mr. Derek Blasberg held a rather classy to do for his new handbook on how to live life with class (and no doubt soon to be NY Times Bestseller) - Classy: Exceptional Advice for the Extremely Modern Woman. After launching the book at Barney's in NYC with the likes of Chloe Sevigny, Blasberg took his new book out west to celebrate with even more famous people at the Missoni boutique last night.

Kate Bosworth, Nicole Richie, Mischa Barton and Margherita Missoni were all in attendance and exceptionally fashionable. Yes, I said Mischa Barton.

met ball roundup: who gets your best dressed vote?

|
By Roberta Correia · May 4, 2010

Ok kids, it's about that time, to bring forth the rhythm and the rhyme...sorry I take any chance to break into Marky Mark song.

It's time to vote for your favorite most wonderfulest best dressed girl at the MET Ball. Obviously it was really tough narrowing it down, but I made some tough choices and decided upon the following six ladies. I welcome your disagreements and write in votes! (Zoe Saldana and Chanel Iman were close calls!!)

never been so impressed: the met costume institute gala...

By Roberta Correia · May 3, 2010

Forget the Oscars, Hollywood's truly most fashionable night is officially the Costume Institute Gala. I can only say Holy amazing red carpet Batman!!! I've never seen so many incredible dresses on so many insanely stylish women all in one place. Doesn't hurt that the inspiration was American style through the ages. I think all the ladies seemed to conquer it. Keep reading for some of my favorites. I don't think there's one that I can say did this year's MET Ball any wrong. It's unbelievable!

a trip down coachella memory lane...

|
By Roberta Correia · April 16, 2010

Ever wonder how Coachella became such a hyped up, fashioned music frenzy? Didn't it use to be just a chill music festival? In the same manner as Sundance, Coachella's now home to all sorts of red carpet worthy parties and sponsored gifting suites to accommodate the ever growing number of celebs attending the 3 day massive fiesta. Hey, not that we're complaining over here - Coachella, and other music festivals like it, have provided us with some of the new millennium's most covetable sartorial choices from the likes of Kate Moss, Sienna Miller, Nicole Richie etc etc... Let's face it, we all wish we had that festival chic look down. Apparently it consists of some super short denim shorts, either a boho top or a vintage rock tshirt and some form of headwear. Shall we take a stroll down memory lane before we start getting inundated with 2010 Coachella fashions?

Oh and I threw Kate Moss at Glastonbury in there just for good measure. Enjoy and dream Coachella dreams...

Daily Style: Nicole Richie...

|
By Roberta Correia · April 8, 2010

I'm in such a summery mood that I couldn't help but ooooh and aaaaah over Nicole Richie's warm weather wear. She can always be counted on for the perfect blend of laid back hippie and fashionista. Case in point her Winter Kate collection dress that looks straight out of 1968 but costs like it was made in 2010. And is unfortunately sold out everywhere. A nod to the side braid and bangs (are we back to the bangs or no bangs argument?) that keep the look oh so currently trendy.

Nicole is one of those rare breads that manages to just look comfortable in everything she wears, ok granted this is a long hippie dress and flat sandals but she looks comfy and super styling. Did I just say super styling? Wow. In any case, enjoy the 90 degree weather! And take inspiration from Nicole's laid back cool summer look.

Daily Style: Nicole Richie's Hippie Week

|
By Roberta Correia · June 3, 2009

Looks like Nicole Richie has adopted skinny ripped jean and flat bootie look as her favorite maternity style.

Not to mention the hippie fringed cross body bag. Not that we're complaining - hippie Nicole is my favorite!! Loving both of these looks - Nicole went for full flaunt of the baby bump at Kidstock and then chose a floating white top to run errands with Harlow in LA.

You know when Nicole rocks it it's a full on trend and we were already on the same radar desperately seeking a fringed bag a couple of months back...
