Summer's definitely starting to rear its lovely little head. Ok so our current weather conditions don't 100% agree with that statement, what with the rainy foggy London skies happening here in NYC. But I do have faint memories of sweltering heat and pool side afternoons that will hopefully be making their way back to us soon. And what goes better with sweltering heat than a nice burst of lemon limey freshness. Seems that bright yellow has made its way onto Hollywood red carpets as the it color of the season. It also goes with the hopefully constant return to the early 90s.

We first caught wind of this color trend when Whitney Port, who yes I unfortunately must refer to as a fashionista, chose a draped Rachel Roy dress in a bright shade of super sunny yellow for the NYLON Young Hollywood party.

Then it was SJP's turn in a flowing asymmetrical Valentino number at the SATC 2 premiere. Hers definitely had a more lime than lemon undertone to it, and combined with her very blonde wavy hair it made for summer personified.

Scarlett followed suit with a more citified version of the trend. The very modern oh so cool sophisticated mini was the work of non other than our favorite Brits, Preen. Ruching, one shoulder, body con mini...the makings of an unbelievably perfect dress. And their version of lemon lime is so on point and wearable it almost makes me want to switch every item in my closet and replace it with just this dress.

How do you guys feel about the return to citrus?

Ok kids, it's about that time, to bring forth the rhythm and the rhyme...sorry I take any chance to break into Marky Mark song.

It's time to vote for your favorite most wonderfulest best dressed girl at the MET Ball. Obviously it was really tough narrowing it down, but I made some tough choices and decided upon the following six ladies. I welcome your disagreements and write in votes! (Zoe Saldana and Chanel Iman were close calls!!)

Forget the Oscars, Hollywood's truly most fashionable night is officially the Costume Institute Gala. I can only say Holy amazing red carpet Batman!!! I've never seen so many incredible dresses on so many insanely stylish women all in one place. Doesn't hurt that the inspiration was American style through the ages. I think all the ladies seemed to conquer it. Keep reading for some of my favorites. I don't think there's one that I can say did this year's MET Ball any wrong. It's unbelievable!

Oh Sex and The City how we've missed you. SJP/Carrie Bradshaw was back on set all last week and clearly so was Patricia Field...

Shockingly enough, it looks like Ms. Bradshaw has simplified not only her love life but her style. Kind of love Carrie in basics...

Check out some of the looks coming out of the SATC sequel after the jump.

Looking like Carrie Bradshaw circa 2000, new mom Sarah Jessica Parker was joined by husband, and Ferris Bueller alter ego, Matthew Broderick at The AIDS Community Research INitiative of America this weekend. Wearing a gold zipper accented strapless dress from covetable London house Temperley of London, Mrs. Broderick was her usual fashionista self, piling on the accessories (oh so trendy SJP) in the form of bangles, gold chains and an eye catching clutch.

It's been a while since we've seen SJP around and maybe this is a sign she's getting back on the horse for the Sex and the City sequel. One can only dream, stay tuned...
