london calling...

By Roberta Correia · February 26, 2010

a mean bout of writer's block, coupled with yet another snowmaggedon has made this final London Fashion Week celebrity sightings report a bit delayed. Enjoy!

daily style: alexa does lfw...

Let's face it, London Fashion Week is incredibly hip. Sure NYFW was all sorts of edgy fun, but something about those Brits just screams It Girl with every step.(Maybe it's because they call it Autumn/Winter instead of Fall/Winter, that just sounds cooler). And no one does "it girl" quite like our girl Alexa Chung.

As per usual Alexa was runway-side at some of the coolest collections - including House of Holland, Christopher Kane and Topshop Unique. Our favorite hipster/model/it girl/trendsetter was her usual effortless impossibly chic self, even changing my beliefs on the denim on denim debate. She also wore a star print top that had me running to my local Urban Outfitters for a similar navy and polka dotted blouse I spotted there. And as always Alexa gave props to Ms. Luella Bartley with her Luella cardigan over an adorable white lace dress. All this and we haven't even gotten to the Burberry show yet.

Hopefully more to come from Alexa Chung at LFW AW2010, but if you can't wait for your next Alexa sartorial fix, check out her "Today I'm Wearing" column for Vogue UK, part of the March cover girl's job for the mag.

london calling...

It's taken me quite some time to get over the loving chaos that was NYFW. And I say chaos in the nicest way possible, sometimes chaos is necessary in life right? From my experience this was one of NYC's funnest fashion weeks in years - people seemed psyched at everything (minus one psychotic casting director who's career needs to be over and sent to anger management stat), smiles on faces - even Anna's - parties, glamour, a billion air kisses and way too many celebrity sightings to even count. My how things change in a season right?

Ok so back to the subject at hand, my point is that NYFW was so much fun that London Fashion Week followed with an equal amount of excitement. After all, no one does fashion like those Brits - at least in my opinion - and it was the 25th anniversary of LFW, a big reason to celebrate. Trenches and booties non stop were the name of the game, and London was It Girl central for the past week - Kate, Alexa, Gwyneth, Liv, Emma, Posh, Pixie, Peaches etc etc etc... And that was all at just one party!! To celebrate their return to the London stage, they had previously been showing in MIlan, Burberry threw the most star studded and infinitely cool affair of the week, not to mention the chicest runway possible. Oh, and the best front pairing I've ever seen. Take a look after the jump.

Desperately Seeking: Alexa Chung's London FW Wardrobe...

By Roberta Correia · September 23, 2009

Dear Alexa,

Please don't take this as us stalking you or anything, but it's just that your London Fashion Week wardrobe has been absolute perfection. But this one really took the cake. A mix of classic, (hello little black dress) tough, (oh is that you studded satchel?) and trendy (nice to see you lace up booties). Oh and just to show us how fabulous she is, she added a dash of Amelia Earhart style to the mix. For my money there's no other fashionista who perfectly mixes elements like Alexa. But I may be a little biased. After all, I've started asking myself "would alexa wear this?" every time I stare at my closet with a complete lack of inspiration. So thank you Ms. Chung for providing us with a little fall wardrobe inspiration this morning and for putting up with us while we shamelessly try to copy your look for less.

All the best,
