Holy red carpet batman!! Is it me or has the red carpet been extremely, um, red, lately? Seems some of our favorite fashionistas are trading the LBD for the LRD. Dare I say it? Red is the new black?...

never been so impressed: the met costume institute gala...

Forget the Oscars, Hollywood's truly most fashionable night is officially the Costume Institute Gala. I can only say Holy amazing red carpet Batman!!! I've never seen so many incredible dresses on so many insanely stylish women all in one place. Doesn't hurt that the inspiration was American style through the ages. I think all the ladies seemed to conquer it. Keep reading for some of my favorites. I don't think there's one that I can say did this year's MET Ball any wrong. It's unbelievable!

the greatest night in fashion...

Forget the Oscars, Golden Globes and Emmy's...the MET Costume Institute Gala is the place to be for the most fashionable red carpet looks.

Hosted by Marc Jacobs, Kate Moss and Justin Timberlake, this year's "Model as Muse" Gala has to be the most style filled event of the year.

From glam ball gowns to mini sequin dresses, to some serious disasters (we'll get to that next), the red carpet was a who's who of fashion and Hollywood.

Oh and did I mention models? Sure most fashion events bring out loads of the slender and tall fashionistas, but with the Model as Muse theme, it was like a model safari - even bringing out our early 90s favorites Cindy Crawford, Paulina Poriskova and Claudia Schiffer. It's like the George Michael Freedom video all over again.

So here go the best of the best...stay tuned for the Oh No moments, trust me there were quite a few...

The Big Time...The Oscars

Ok, maybe it's me. Well, let me rephrase, it's definitely me. I would much rather see stars dressed in casual cocktail dresses or their everyday street wear than so overly dolled up at the Oscars. But we're here and there's a red carpet, and a lot of amazing over the top dresses.

There was a lot of poof and drama when it came to the choices this year and the ladies were all extremely glamourous. It does seem like red and nude continue to be the "It" colors of the Award Show season doesn't it?

That all being said, I was not overly impressed with anyone's look. Oh wait, let me take that back for a second - it was amazing to see Natalie Portman in something so colorful and young. Other than my shock of seeing Natalie in pink, I was just a bit underwhelmed with the rest of the looks. Don't get me wrong - lots of sophistication and elegance, but I like something a little different and a bit fresher and young. (not happy seeing the ususally so fresh and so clean Vanessa Hudgens in something completely age inappropriate)

But there's a lot of glamour so far, and that's what the public wants to see.

Check out the best of the best of the Oscars red carpet after the jump.

Oh, and let me just say - I still miss Melissa and Joan Rivers, it's just not the same without them and I really want to tell Giuliana de Pandi to just shut up.

It was a short and crazy week. Sorry for so little posts but you know how Thanksgiving weekend works.

Anyway, for such a short week there was a lot going on...from the AMA's to the CNN Heroes Award.

Who do you think turned it out best?

Ok, so technically that title doesn't make too much sense other than that Justin & Jessica have been all lovey dovey in Rome and that song reminds me of Jude Law in "The Talented Mr. Ripley"... So down to the fashion - I always have such a hard time looking put together, yet comfortable, stylish, appropriate etc when sightseeing on vacation. I've never been a big fan of Jessica Biel's style - she never seems to put too much effort into it other than red carpet looks... that being said she totally blew me away with this perfectly paired touring outfit. LOVE LOVE LOVE the leopard print scarf...hope they are eating lots of pasta!

Oh and Justin doesn't look too bad in his fedora and wayfarers.

After seeing the pictures of this vacation I've decided I actually like them together.

ps - i know this picture's a few days old but i couldn't help it!
