ok so should we just go right past the apologies and the excuses and the talk about food poisoning and no sleep and busy-ness and go right to laughing about my very long absence? No? Sorry kids, it's been an interesting couple of weeks and I've disappointed myself by letting you all down. Today we move right past this awkward incident and right to talking about our favorite topic.

So let's get back down to business and start out with a look that positively shocked me. Jennifer Aniston not wearing black! GASP. Ok so we saw Jen in a beige Donna Karan number last week that was outstanding (yeah I know I didn't post it here, oops, my bad) but still going the basic route that Jen's become known for on the red carpet. And then out of nowhere this weekend we get: Ms. Aniston in BRIGHT PINK...and not just any bright pink, an ombre ruffled and bowed Christian Lacroix bright pink. Can we talk about how amazing a little color looks on her? And let's discuss that the hair is not down and pin straight! Ok so a ponytail's not exactly Friends haircut groundbreaking but it's a start. Maybe this is a whole new Jen.

And don't worry I won't be disappearing again ok? Promise. And stay tuned for a little something new coming your way!

Ok, so maybe they're not ALL luncheons but we can all agree that they are all doing good and looking ladylike. This week saw a bevy of events, lunches and dinners geared towards raising awareness to the various causes close to our favorite starlets's hearts. Sure in New York this all came thanks to the UN Council bringing us the do gooders of the world to our fair city but the world of traffic that follows them.

Meanwhile...

Fashion isn't quarantined to New York this week. On the other side of the country plenty of fashionable happenings are still going on and we of course love to talk about them.

Particularly when there's a Kate Beckinsale appearance which gives us not one but two looks from the stunning starlet. Kate graced us with her red carpet presence at last night's premiere of her new movie "Whiteout" wearing a fairly plain strapless black gown from Jil Sander. She looked amazing of course with her every glowing tan, statement necklace and bangle and underpinned hair which I just love, love, love...

Not content with wowing us just once, Mrs. Wiseman got rid of the chunky jewels and changed into a positively gorgeous navy blue Christian Lacroix cocktail dress.

Lucky for Jil Sander that she saved the best last! Sorry Jil but Lacroix would have been a tough act to follow.

Blame it on Rio, or the fact that I'm a very patriotic Brazilian, but I'm starting to really like the Cruise-Holmes's.

The craziest thing I might have ever said I know. But, their recent trip to Rio has really solidified my belief that they might not be totally insane after all.

Please don't judge me. Like I said, it may just be the Rio effect, I am after all a Carioca. (that's what we call Rio natives fyi for you gringos)

In any case, Mr. & Mrs. Cruise and Suri have been jaunting all over my home town awaiting the premiere of Operacao Valquiria (Valkyrie in Portuguese).

Which has given Joey Potter the excuse to break out some of her resort/spring/summer wear. Really kind of loving the 70s throw back in her wardrobe.

Check out some of her Rio-rrific looks after the jump.
