This post was put on a little hiatus due to a severe case of indecisiveness. See, I just couldn't wrap my head around how I felt about Nicole's velvety Emilio Pucci one armed dress (by the way that made me say One Eyed Willy in my head).
Harlow's mom chose a very Bohemian intricately printed purple velvet dress to celebrate her Lucky Mag cover in LA this week. Now as much as velvet and I hate each other I had a hard time dismissing this look completely. I started thinking that this was the type of thing hippie and mod chicks from the 60s would have worn. If she had clicked in some super straight long extensions with some Jane Birkin-esque bangs, I would've had no doubt about it. But the short wavy hair was a little too common place for such an interesting dress. For now I'm voting "like" but who knows where my head will be at the end of the day, I'll let you know if I suddenly switch gears.
More one shouldered fantasticness after the jump! more, more, more...
Is there a better most fabulously cool and stylish starlet to take a cue from this summer than Kate Bosworth? Kate's had quite the fashionable couple of weeks and some of her looks are down right covetable and actually quite easy to knock off... Let this serve as our week's worth of style inspiration - at least 5 perfect outfits to get you through your weekly fashion needs!
time to play a bit of catch up on the week. yeah i know i know...
I'm in such a summery mood that I couldn't help but ooooh and aaaaah over Nicole Richie's warm weather wear. She can always be counted on for the perfect blend of laid back hippie and fashionista. Case in point her Winter Kate collection dress that looks straight out of 1968 but costs like it was made in 2010. And is unfortunately sold out everywhere. A nod to the side braid and bangs (are we back to the bangs or no bangs argument?) that keep the look oh so currently trendy.
Nicole is one of those rare breads that manages to just look comfortable in everything she wears, ok granted this is a long hippie dress and flat sandals but she looks comfy and super styling. Did I just say super styling? Wow. In any case, enjoy the 90 degree weather! And take inspiration from Nicole's laid back cool summer look.
By no means am I implying these dresses are identical. However, something about them just strikes me as eerily similar, especially considering they were worn on the same night.
Anne Hathaway stepped out across the pond in Vivienne Westwood for the highly anticipated world premier of Alice in Wonderland. Anne's Vivienne Westwood had the signature VW neckline, a more brownish color and a lovely draped side. She paired it with ruffled Casadei pumps, Stephen Webster jewels and very red lips. Something about her here screams Julia Roberts to me, but what do I know. I kind of love the sort of messed up hair, who knows if it's the rainy London weather or if that was the hair style's intent. Either way it works for me and gives Anne this sexy grown up thing she's lacked a few times on the red carpet.
It's Only Fashion fave Kristen Bell was feeling the Thursday night sparkles all the way on the other side of the world at the Costume Designer's Guild Awards in LA. Kristen chose a golden glistening Stella McCartney for the occasion, perfectly netted with a nude tule disguising the low cut of the dress. Equally as pretty and sparkly as Anne, but with a California girl spin to it. Don't you think?
